A Futuristic Stay with " The Capsule Hotel "
It was something I have wanted to do for a very long time! Ever since I was old enough to travel, and I started booking my accommodation on my adventures.
Now, a backpacker, hostel and or cheaper type accommodation has never been of interest to me. I usually refuse to do so, because of the fact of sharing a bathroom, dorm, and practically having no privacy what so ever, did not seem appealing to me. A 4-star above, and yes, I am happy.
A capsule, on the other hand, this is an entirely new story. What I thought could only happen in Japan, or surrounding Asian countries, I was wrong. A capsule module and hotel launched in Sydney, “ The Capsule Hotel “, and I had to try it on my visit. I’m strange sometimes, i just have to try and experience random things sometimes, and this was one of them, and totally last minute. This innovative "concept" brings boutique-style accommodation to the new generation of travelers.
I laugh and say it felt like a mini business class cabin in the sky. I had the double bed option, which felt spacious enough and did not feel claustrophobic at all. Each capsule is fitted with advanced options to make your stay more pleasurable and enjoyable. Air conditioning, a television with multiple channels to watch, a USB port, headphone jack as well as the futuristic experience of the LED display on the capsule panel which indicates the date, time and approximate capsule temperature and for your safety an SOS button for emergency purposes.
Apart from sharing a bathroom ( which you do on a plane anyway economy or business haha ) I enjoyed my stay and would probably 100% do it again. It was a fun and unique experience that not many could say they have done. Give it a shot, if traveling alone or with a friend.
